赵仰柴先生，西安市长安区人。其家学深厚，幼年起练字习书，青年时逐而专致。此时又得到我国着名美术家、雕塑史论家、美术教育家、考古美学创始人王子云先生(系吴冠中、王朝闻等艺术大师的老师)及其夫人文博专家何正璜先生的悉心教诲，影响至深。习书的同时，开始了书法理论的研究，以求丰富自己书法艺术底蕴。他常以于右任先生的话“文字为人类表现思想发展生活之工具，书法为中国特有的艺术，亦为我国古今教育要科，关系国家民族之前途至大，不可以小技视之也”为镜，可见其对待书法艺术态度之严肃。在他看来，一部书法史，就是汉字书法继承和创新的歷史，所以他是将继承和创新等同视之，才有今天的书法艺术成就(摘自中国华文教育网)。他说，柴虽习书六十余载，先为所逼，中途专致，后常因书艺难以长进而困 之。感慨，已虽慎重将事，力避乖僻，终格于寡学而匠气难脱，错讹 难免，所书难当高明大雅也，自慰为己生活之点缀矣!
虽如此，但其书法作品自上世纪九十年代始，已被国内多种报刊、杂志发表;曾被国际、国内友人收藏;作为政府礼品赠送;被国家有关机关刊物采用和国家机关领导人收藏。庆其书法作品但凡参与书赛者， 犹能获奖也。甚幸矣!
